Lombardia is an industrious place all right, with Milano at its centre, world renowned for fashion, high tech, finance and one of the world’s most illustrious names in the history of motor sport, Alfa Romeo.
Even if this is the most industrialised region in Italy, Lombardia plays a primary role in the country's wine scene. It's also difficult to suggest another region of such diversity; high snowy peaks, alpine valleys, lakes large and small, old villages, lovely hills dotted with grapevines, rivers flanked by rows of poplar trees, great cities concealing incredible gems of extraordinary art...
