Lagrein

Lagrein is indigenous to the Bolzano area of Alto Adige where it makes aromatic medium bodied red and rosè wines. Occasionally, where soils and conditions are suitable, it can make rich and very dark (scuro) wines of great character.

Lagrein Kretzer is considered to be one of Italy’s best rosé wines, the 'Kretzer' term deriving from the German name for reeds historically used to make mats to press the grapes specifically to obtain pink wines.
