Primitivo
Of fundamental importance in Puglia, Primitivo takes its name from its early ripening trait and makes full bodied wines which are deeply coloured with spicy red and black cherry flavours. A specific clone, Primitivo di Manduria, has been determined to be genetically identical to Zinfandel and can be labelled as such - although we at Cento per Cento cannot condone the practice of giving international names to Italian varieties grown in Italy!
