Calorio (CUNEO)

Absolutely in line with our views at Cento per Cento, BARTOLOMEO CALORIO believes beyond all else in reflecting local traditions and values. He doesn’t believe that consumers really want homogeneity and neither do we. Calorio is a true Piemontese family business in Montà, province of Cuneo, with long traditions, carefully considering modern developments before implementing only those which further the aims of enhancing authenticity, regional character and environmental preservation. Bartolomeo, pretending as he does that he is only a simple ‘contadina’ – usually wrongly translated to English as ‘peasant’ but more correctly as ‘artisan’ - nevertheless claims original design input for their labels. Wouldn’t such a true artisan be just the sort of person who strives to capture and express the beauty of his land, passions and beliefs in every way that he can using every means at his disposal? Winemaking consultancy is provided by Lorenzo Quinterno.
