Coste della Sesia DOC Rosso 2001 Torrearsa - Piemonte

Description

Wine obtained from grapes gathered in the old Buco vineyard in the hills of Brusnengo, province of Biella in northern Piemonte. Named after an ancient tower, burned and now in ruins, just above the vineyard where in the 1700s there lived a hermit monk who cultivated vines.

Aroma is clean with well matched notes of berries, vanilla, pepper and a little cocoa powder. Warm, dry and slightly austere in the way of reds from these northern lattitudes and altitude.   Best 2007 on
